FULL FEATURE FLY FISHING SHOW
‘Arts of the Angler’ on November 5 and 6 in Danbury, CT
DANBURY, CT – Every aspect of fly fishing will be featured during the two-day “Arts of the Angler” show on November 5 and 6 at the Ethan Allen Inn in Danbury, Connecticut. The 9th annual event is sponsored by the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum in Livingston Manor, NY.
The show runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5 and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 6. Cost is $12 per day or $20 for the weekend. Children are free.
Environmental attorney, cinematographer and fly fisherman Ted Rogowski will be the guest speaker at the center’s 35thAnniversary Celebration Dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at the show. He and Terry Shultz will hold a conversation about fly fishing and its relationship to clean water and important life time events. The presentation will include “The Tale of the $100,000 Green Grasshopper.” Cost is $40 per person. Reservations are suggested for this event which has limited space.
The event features the finest contemporary and collectible fly fishing tackle and accessories, fly tying materials, books, art, destinations, instruction guides and services for the fly fishing community. Programs and seminars throughout the weekend will feature the “how to,” “where to” and “what to” in fly fishing.
Over 35 tables of fly tyers will provide nonstop tying demonstrations of the latest, as well as proven patterns. Fishing tackle expert Bob Selb of the Classic Fly Fisherman will identify and value items brought to the show.
Programs will include: “The Art of Fly Casting” by Joan Wulff, “Fishing in the Indian Ocean, Indonesia and Oman” by Terry Shultz, “Wet Flies 101” by Steve Culton and “The Upper Delaware River – Fly Fishing, History and Politics” with Tony Ritter.
The Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum (CFFCM) will have a table of fly fishing books, both new and slightly used, as well as a table from the center’s gift shop.
The Ethan Allen Inn is located at Interstate 84 Exit 4, Lake Avenue Ext. in Danbury, CT.
