Repair Cafe Livingston Manor
Repair Café Livingston Manor is an initiative that promotes repair as an alternative to tossing things out. Community members can bring their broken items to fix them on the spot with the help of volunteer repairers. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to repair all items, but we’ll give it a try!
Repair volunteers specialize in electrical appliances, small furniture pieces and other wood items, toys, clothing and other fabric items. Our volunteer guitar expert will be back for stringing and minor adjustments and we will again be offering fly fishing rod repair, thanks to the volunteers at CFFCM.
Do you have pants that need hemming? Blankets that need patching? Cloth dolls that need fixing? Kids’ clothing or a Halloween costume that needs some loving care? Our helpful sewers can make these repairs. Unfortunately, we cannot repair zippers.
Are there beloved earrings, a necklace, or a bracelet in your closet that are in need of repair? Sustainable Hudson Valley Repair Cafe Coordinator Suzie Fromer will lend her jewelry repair expertise for this Cafe; however, she cannot accept items that require soldering. We will have an expert on hand to advise you about watch and clock repair, but he will not be able to make the fixes on site.
Do you have a laptop that’s gone quirky? Bring it along for our expert fixer!
Stop at the registration table upon arrival at the Fly Fishing Center - there will be signs to guide you. We ask that you register each item separately. Our volunteer ushers will escort you to the qualified available repairer. As each of your items is completed, we ask that you return to the waiting area to allow others to have a turn.
FREE: No pre-registration necessary
Location: Bamboo rod making workshop (ground floor of the Wulff Gallery)
