Lew Oatman (1902-1958) —His Streamers and his History
The classic streamers developed by Lew Oatman in the 1950’s, with a little history thrown in. Fly angling author Ernest G. Schwiebert said Oatman tied his streamers “so beautifully that they were as exquisite as the most elegant dry flies of the Catskill school, and his imitative theories made him the father of the scientific approach to baitfish patterns.” Behind the scenes photos taken while Mike crafted the Oatman chapter in his book The Founding Flies are part of the presentation, as well as a few stories from that experience.
