Fly Tying with Phil Street
Our Saturday Fly Tyers series continues with Phil Street. Saturday - July 27th, 2024 during Sullivan County Museum Weekend
Phil’s fly fishing journey began in England, where his grandfather introduced him to the sport at age twelve. He later attended St. Andrews in Scotland and pursued a career in technology and finance, which kept him traveling through Europe with little time for fishing.
In 2005, a work move to New York led Phil and his wife to discover the beautiful Catskills, reminiscent of their old home in Scotland. By 2022, they fulfilled a dream by buying a home in Livingston Manor.
Phil's passion for fly fishing was reignited upon joining the Catskills Fly Fishing Center and Museum, and the Catskills Fly Tyers Guild. He developed a deep interest in Catskills fly fishing history and specialized in tying classic Catskill style dry flies.
Phil values the generosity and shared knowledge of the fly fishing community, which has greatly enriched his life and practice.
CFFCM Saturday Tyers Series is offered in partnership with the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild.
