Take your casting into the third dimension and fish places that you would normally avoid, using standard trout gear and applying Single hand Spey techniques. Look good and feel confident doing so. This is an introductory yet intensive class in single hand Spey casting, covering the Switch, Double Spey and Snap-T casts - their nomenclature, mechanics and uses. Being a mid-level caster, able to perform a useful Roll cast is a prerequisite to attend - this is not a class for those new to fly casting. Class will be held on museum grounds, the perfect location with its pavilion, large mowed field, pond and access to the Willowemoc creek. Leaders and yarn flies will be provided.
You will need to bring: a 9 ft. / 5 or 6 wgt. outfit (even better if the line is one size up from the rod's designation), sunglasses, hat, sunscreen. Waders/boots. Wet wading may be an option for some - please though have proper wading boots.
Please contact easterncaster@gmail.com for any questions about the gear needed.
